Guess what? It's time for short stories! While I am in the process of publishing my first two books, I do have some short stories I feel should go up here. Much like my fanfiction, I want these stories to update on the site regularly, with new chapters coming out every once and a while. My goal is to have new chapters every week, at the moment.
Origin is expansive and sometimes it can be difficult for me to figure out which platforms would be best for which stories. There are two I've deduced should be posted here rather than published or placed on a podcast platform, as most of my stories are.
Here are the covers of both of them! Both Tomorrow's Memories and Anomalies will be posted on here at the same time; their first chapters are just now getting edited. If you want a sneak peek at what these two stories will be like, let me clue you in...
Each is a very different story from the other.
The first thing I would like to note is that Tomorrow's Memories has a problematic protagonist and I'm fully aware of it, as is he. I state this now because there's a purpose to the story. I find that a lot of my characters have their own problems, but are generally not the worst when it comes to issues. Alongside this, I've always had difficulty writing from the perspective of male characters; perhaps it is because I myself don't identify as a man or feel necessarily connected to men outside of a few I know. I wanted to explore this further. Without ruining the story, I want to acknowledge that this is about reassessing our values and recognizing our past. Besides that, it's a slice of life Origin story, which isn't something I often get to write about.
Anomalies is a very different story; it follows a little more like most the content I've been producing, but in the Modern Era. This story delves into a mistake on Death's part and includes one of my favorite platonic relationships in all of Origin. I also want to point out that both of these stories have male/female identified pairings; I want to make it clear that these have queer narratives in them and that, in the future, I will have more same-sex content. However, there should be more same-sex content on the shows airing at Black Moor, so please check that out!
I hope you guys enjoy these stories as my partner and I have worked very closely together to make sure they've been conveyed well. The current date for release is still unclear but we are looking for a time in February, so please stay tuned and thank you for your support!
